For the last few months we have been working night and day on something very special for Android users. Something totally new, totally different and totally awesome.

We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from our Blackberry app and reimagined Socialscope. This is more then just Twitter + Facebook…we’re designing a platform that integrates ALL your services.

So without any further ado, we are delighted to announce that a Alpha version of our Android app!

Pre-Thanksgiving Surprise from SocialScope

We just pushed out an new update of our BlackBerry app; if you don’t have it yet hit check for updates in the settings screen. We’ve tweaked support for Facebook photo posts and fixed a bunch of bugs including the duplicate tabs issue. As usual we’ve made other cool enhancements dig in and share them with your friends…see if you can find them all.

A note on leaked OS builds: We don’t support running SocialScope on leaked OS builds. The officially supported BlackBerry OS releases have enough bugs to keep us busy:) We’ve looked into multiple issues when running leaked BlackBerry OS 6.0 builds and they have all been OS bugs.

SocialScope lands on the Torch

Good news! Today we’ve added Torch and BlackBerry OS 6.0 support to SocialScope. This was a big project and required rewriting an insane amount of code. There were easier ways to make it work, but we wanted to ensure the blazing fast speed and low battery utilization that you’ve come to love.

In addition to to porting SocialScope to BlackBerry OS 6.0 we added some cool new tricks:

  • Swipe left and right to switch tabs
  • When reading a message swipe left and right to switch message
  • Double tap a tab icon to go to the top of the message list
  • Search twitter from your home screen through universal search
  • Go to your friend’s profiles from the home screen through universal search
  • Crazy fast scrolling
  • Super low battery usage

We also fixed bugs that caused connection issues, login problems, settings not saving and periodic high battery usage.

p.s. To all of you that held off upgrading to the Torch or carried around two BlackBerries so you wouldn’t lose SocialScope you rock! We think this version will make you happy :)
